Luka Pesic -Room 19
Room 19 are proud to celebrate Luka as their pupil of the week…congratulations!
Luka is a cheerful, well-mannered member of our class with a positive attitude towards learning. He takes an active interest in other people, both staff and students, and he always wears a smile.
Luka consistently works towards achieving his ‘best always’ and his ability to produce work of both quality and quantity is continually increasing.
He is a good friend to many in Room 19, as well as students from other classes, showing fairness when participating in group activities and games. Luka is an honest and trustworthy person.

Joanne Lourens ~ Room 8

Have you ever noticed that Joanne just never stops smiling?  Even during the Athletics day, I am sure I could spot a glimmer of Joanne's gorgeous smile at all times!
Room 8 are so lucky to have such a happy and fun person in their class.
Joanne always tries her best in class and works really hard in all subjects. You should see how neat her handwriting has become!
Joanne is such a kind and caring friend and she loves to help her classmates.
When we visit the library, can you guess where we find Joanne....? In the joke book section! She loves to find some hilarious jokes to share with us to give us a giggle.
Thank you Joanne for being such a smiley, happy and positive friend in Room 8.


Josh Hamilton ~ Room 6
Congratulations Josh, you are the deserving recipient of Pupil of the Week!
With your wonderful sense of humour you are a constant source of delight in our class. We love the way you always find the good from any situation, and you don’t take life too seriously. Whenever you get that famous twinkle in your eye we know you are about to crack out another Josh Hamilton joke or impersonation to make us laugh.
Everyone knows that you are an amazing athlete and actor - but we bet they didn’t know that you show that same determination and skill with your school-work too! You have made us super proud of the effort you’ve put into all areas of the curriculum and the progress you’ve made show us just how dedicated you are.

Annie Ho ~ Room 5
Annie is a delightful and valued member of Room 5.
Her hard work is reflected in her writing for which she has a real passion.
Annie always exceeds the highest standards set and her work shows a person who takes great pride in their accomplishments.
Her friendly nature means she is never more than happy to
help out her fellow classmates.
Annie is extremely mature and is a role model for others in the school.
Congratulations Annie and we wish you all the best in the future!!

Andrew Hickman ~ Room 4
What can I say about this absolutely delicious boy!  He has a quiet yet wicked sense of humour that he has kept hidden from us in Room 4 for most of the year.  Luckily, finally he has let us see him for the quirky kid that we all love.  At times he makes us double over with pain from all the belly laughing!
It has been an absolute delight to see him strive to do his very successful best.
 Andrew is sensitive to the needs of others and is always one of the first to lend a hand.  
Not forgetting the super athlete he is!
Room 4 are proud of Andrew and his achievements this year, and we would like to wish him the best of luck for his new adventure next year.  
We just hope he shares all his talents with his new school right from the start, otherwise they may miss out!

Jonathan Sayal ~ Room 9
Room 9 would like to introduce Jonathan Sayal as our Pupil of the Week!
Jonathan always comes to school with a delightful smile on his face.
He is friendly to all and is kind and caring. Jonathan is always willing to lend a hand to his fellow classmates and his teacher.
He shows fantastic manners and sits on the mat with such a
straight back it is as if he is made of steel!
Jonathan listens carefully to his teacher, which shows in his schoolwork, especially writing. He seems to have turned into a writing machine!
Well done Jonathan for being our star, keep up the hard work and stay shining!

Liarna Ardana ~ Room 10
Mrs Coleman and Room 10 are proud to celebrate Liarna
as their Pupil of the Week.
Liarna comes to school every day ready to learn. She approaches learning tasks positively and is always prepared to give things a go. Liarna works hard towards achieving her ‘Best Always’ and takes great pride in her work. She has clear goals with regards to her learning and holds high expectations of herself.
Liarna is also kind and caring and is always helping
out the teacher and her friends!

Madeline Want ~ Room 8
Room 8 are incredibly lucky to have someone as smiley and happy as Maddy in our class!
 Maddy is such a gorgeous friend, always helping those in need and letting others join in her games.
 Every week Maddy makes sure she has worked hard to learn her spelling words, and she always strives to do her very best in every subject area.
 Maddy is a whizzy reader and wow, you should see the amazing stories she writes!  She really is a writing machine.  
Maddy also loves sports, and she puts in a great effort at PE and junior sport.
 We love having Maddy in Room 8, thank you for being such a super friend.

Emison Styris ~ Room 7
Room 7 is very excited to have Emison as the VAS Pupil of the Week.
Emison has a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards everything she does.
She always follows our school motto- Our Best Always.
Emison is an exceptionally kind and caring member of the class. She always notices when others are upset or worried and happily makes personal sacrifices to help her peers.

Stella Lam - Room 6
Congratulations to Stella Lam, our deserving Room 6 pupil of the week! Stella is one of those gorgeous girls who can be depended on 100% of the time. She is always doing the right thing, at the right time in the right place!
Stella is the epitome of our school motto ‘Our Best Always’.
A gentle and sincere student, Stella quietly gets on with her work without creating fuss or requiring extra attention. A kind-hearted friend she shows compassion and concern to others without being over-bearing or interfering.
She has a great sense of humour and is such a fun person to be around, with her gentle laugh and light-up-the-room smile.
Stella is simply a superstar in every way possible, and we love having her in our class, congratulations from all of us in Room 6.

Max Jennings ~ Room 5

Max is an enthusiastic and motivated learner who approaches all new learning opportunities with interest.
He questions thoughtfully, listens attentively and perseveres to answer his inquiries with detail and good understanding. Max manages his time effectively.
He takes pride in all he does and always strives to achieve his very best.
Max works cooperatively on group tasks. He accepts a wide range of responsibilities, which Max fulfils admirably.
Max is always considerate of others. He is a thoughtful and caring member of our class.
We in Room Five know Max has a bright future and we wish him all the best.

Renee Domazet, what can we say about this truly wonderful individual.
Renee is a pupil that walks into the classroom like the sun has just come up in the morning, she is warm and bubbly in personality, kind and caring in nature and helpful to all in need.
She is determined to work to the best of her ability, demonstrating to others what 'Our Best Always' looks like.
There is never a time when we cannot count on Renee being best friends to everyone.
Room 4 is so proud of Renee and would like to congratulate her on being a fantastic role model and leader for all of us.

Rory Holmes ~ Room 3
It is a pleasure to have Rory in our class. He always has a huge grin on his face, making us want to smile back at him. His even natured disposition allows him to work well with others. This means that he achieves good results in his IBL and any other group work.
Rory has excellent manners and always acts responsibly in any situation. He listens attentively and then settles to work independently fulfilling what is required of him.
Room 3 are very happy to have Rory as a classmate who is so positive.

Kayla Nuzum ~ Room 2
Kayla is a charismatic, dedicated student who consistently displays the qualities required to succeed in life.
By studying hard and applying herself she has achieved a good understanding in all areas of the curriculum. She completes her work promptly and to a high standard.
She takes the time to balance her studious nature with the ability to engage with her peers. These wonderful skills enable her to secure strong friendships.
She ably demonstrates that she has a mature attitude to life while retaining a good sense of fun.

Dominic Domazet ~ Room 18
Room 18 are so lucky to have such a kind and caring class member as our Dom D.
He comes to school equipped with a positive attitude and a gorgeous smile that lights up his whole face.
It has been a pleasure watching Dominic’s confidence grow this year, and we love how he is always reliable, polite, and willing to give everything a go.
He is very inquisitive, always questioning and sharing his
imaginative ideas and opinions.
Dominic has a quiet and gentle nature, making him a fair and considerate friend to all. He is a natural peacemaker, and will always provide support and encouragement to his peers.
Although he may not be the biggest child in the class,
he certainly has a big heart.
Dominic, thank you for everything you contribute to our class,

Claudia Smidt ~ Room 21
Claudia is a conscientious, happy and hardworking pupil who deserves recognition for her excellent achievement and work ethic.
She is always curious with an amazing sense of humour and smile!
Claudia is a great example of our school motto: ‘Our Best Always’ and enjoys participating, contributing and taking on responsibilities.
She shows a caring thoughtful attitude towards others and is always willing to help out within the classroom.

Hamish McLaren ~ Room 20
Room Twenty is both lucky and proud to have Hamish as their pupil of the week. He is a delightful and caring young man as well as a great friend to everyone in the class. Hamish uses the most amazing manners and it is guaranteed that he will always be in the right place at the right time. Hamish works hard to make everyone in our class feel special and he often looks to help other people in any way that he can.
Hamish works diligently, thinks a lot and focuses on producing his best possible results all the time. He is both supportive and encouraging to all his peers and he takes an active role in our discussions, often sharing his own experiences with us all. Hamish always does his best and is certainly a fine ambassador for the school and example of the Victoria Avenue School motto.
Hamish is fantastic. He is a well-respected member of our class, the Middle Syndicate and indeed our entire school.
We are all truly lucky to have someone like him to share our school days with.

Jane Schellekens ~ Room 19
Room 19 are proud to celebrate Jane as their pupil of the week…congratulations!
Jane is a remarkable student. She is always cheerful, well mannered, and shows an enjoyment of school. She can also make her face turn red like a tomato!!! She has a good balance of knowing when it’s okay to be funny in class and also when it’s time to settle down and be sensible.
She relates well to others, showing empathy towards students in our class and in the playground.
Jane has a positive attitude towards learning and will give anything a go. She is the kind of student who will listen to what the teacher says, think about it, then go away and try it, often with great success. She regularly finishes work to the best of her abilities. Jane especially enjoys books and likes to talk about the latest adventures she is reading about.

We are very lucky to have Phoebe in Room 17. She is an outstanding role model of our school motto “Our Best Always”. Phoebe is a capable student, who always settles quickly, and whatever the task, completes it well and to the best of her ability. She willingly assists others when required, often without being asked.
She has a gentle, modest nature and a lovely smile. Phoebe is polite, responsible and considerate of others, making her popular with all of her classmates.
She readily contributes to, and confidently participates in, all class activities.
Phoebe is a lovely caring, helpful and reliable class member.
Thank you Phoebe for being such a wonderful student and member of our learning community.

Marc Ng ~ Room 16
When you arrive in Room 16 you soon notice Marc, he is the quiet, hard working boy sitting at his desk focusing on his activity, whatever else may be happening around the room!
The most noticeable thing about Marc is his positive outlook, and real desire to learn and achieve, which allows him to maximise his learning each and every day. He is a fantastic role model with a gentle, calm and unassuming nature.
Marc is always willing to help anybody who asks for it and readily accepts any responsibility he is given. When he is working in a group Marc will listen carefully to everybody and will offer his own carefully thought through ideas.
Room 16 are very glad to have Marc as part of their learning community and know that he will continue to be a kind friend to everyone in the class and anyone else at VAS who wants one.

How could we not choose Grace for our pupil of the week? She is a dream pupil!
If ever you need a job done well, Grace is your lady.
She has the most impeccable manners and is kind to everyone.
Grace has also made so much progress with her learning this year, she is a whiz reader and mathematician.
And as if that wasn't enough, Grace took out first place in cross country today.
Well done Grace, what a star!
Room 14’s Pupil of the Week is Lucy Nevill. Lucy is an outstanding candidate for this award because she is the complete all-rounder. Inside and outside the classroom, Lucy works hard, while enjoying the company of her peers and adults alike.
She is an independent worker with a mature outlook on life, far beyond her years. She faces new academic challenges with a quiet confidence and enthusiasm. She enjoys all aspects of her school day, and always tries to complete her work accurately. She displays an artistic flair and demands high standards of herself. She works to the best of her ability in all curriculum areas.
Lucy is enthusiastic about sport. She enjoys competing with others, but has a keen sense of fair play.
She is a good and loyal friend, always willing to help others. She is reliable and thoughtful, and fully deserves to be Room 14’s Pupil of the Week.

5 August
Holly Barker ~ Room 12
Holly is a bubbly, enthusiastic member of Room 12, who comes to school each day ready to learn and to make new friends out on the playground.
Holly cares about others. She loves to play with her own friends but is always willing to include new friends in her games. When she knows that someone has been lonely at playtime she will always come forward to look after them.
Holly is a good learner. She works hard and listens carefully. She is also a writing machine! Holly is so determined to finish her stories that she would keep on writing all through morning tea if her teacher didn’t remind her to go outside.
Room 12 are very proud of you Holly.

Fraser McLaren ~ Room 11
Room 11 is extremely lucky! Let us tell you why. We have Fraser in our class. Perhaps you have not met Fraser yet. You should listen closely.
He is a caring, thoughtful and encouraging friend to everyone.
If anyone needs help Fraser happily offers it. He loves learning everything and anything. He always knows what he is working on and then he practises and practises until he can do his new task without ever giving up.
His work is always, always his best.
Fraser is definitely a shining star in our room.

Amazing Alice! From the very first day of school, Alice has had her brilliant smile set on full power. She goes out of her way to help others and has the most outstanding manners. Alice is super friendly, greeting everyone she sees in the corridor with a lovely “Good morning” or “Good afternoon” and a huge smile. She also greets every teacher by name, which is pretty impressive!
Alice is an extremely hard worker. She is a self-motivated and diligent student who tries her absolute best in all that she does. She settles into tasks quickly and always produces high quality work. Her focus, dedication to learning and her constant strive for excellence, are all things to be greatly admired.
Room 1 are very lucky to have such a creative, kind and happy person like Alice in our class. She is an absolute pleasure to teach and brightens each day with her positive outlook on things. We are so proud of what Alice has achieved so far this year, and look forward to seeing her reach her goals in the future. Alice, you truly are amazing!
 
Will O’Shannessey ~ Room 20

Helena Liang ~ Room 17
Helena is a delightful student, who has blossomed as her confidence has grown. She has a beautiful smile and a lovely infectious enthusiasm when relating an activity or experience, which she has enjoyed. Helena readily participates in, and contributes to, all class activities. She always settles to tasks quickly, and stays focussed until she has completed them to the best of her ability.
Helena has lovely manners, and is always helpful and considerate of others. She is a
kind and caring friend to her classmates and a great role model. Room 17 is pleased to have such a valued class member as Helena.

Dan Barclay ~ Room 16
You are an outstanding student, hard working, diligent, and self-motivated. You always listen carefully, you are polite, kind and considerate at all times and everyone, particularly the younger children in school, know that you will help them if they ask.
In class you are a valued member of any group and pay careful attention to other people’s ideas and opinions. You make everybody feel that they are important and that their ideas matter.

Michael Awori ~ Room 11
Michael is a perfect example of ‘Our Best Always’
He has started school just this year and he is already a role model to others in so many ways.
He is a kind and thoughtful friend who is always patient. He encourages other students and cheers them up when they are upset.
He tries his best in all his work and he loves to share his ideas.
His happy smile is always the first thing we see in the morning.
He is definitely our shining star.

Louis Houtman ~ Room 13
Louis Houtman is Room 13’s pupil of the week. He is amazing!
He is such a super role model – he listens carefully, he works quietly, and his manners are impeccable. Of course, he is a good friend too, because, not only is he kind, he has a great sense of humour.
Louis has made huge progress with his learning too, and that is because he perseveres with everything!
And our Louis is the man to ask if you don’t know about something – he’s like a human Google!

Harriet Campbell ~ Room 14
 
In February this year, Harriet came to Victoria Avenue School from the United States, where she had lived with her family.
She settled quickly into life in Room 14 and soon made friends.
She has a cheerful, positive outlook on life, and her sunny personality has endeared her to all.
She is independent, mature and reliable.
She tackles her work with enthusiasm and confidence, and always tries to do her best. She is imaginative in her thinking and creative artistically.
She is generous and kind to others, and fully deserves to be
Room 14’s Pupil of the Week.

Dominic Turnbull ~ Room 12
Dominic is a kind, friendly little boy who loves to share and play with his Room 12 friends. He starts each day with a warm smile which gets us all off to a great start!
Dominic is pretty nifty on the computer and can log on to Ultranet independently to explore different games and activities. He is also able to trouble-shoot for his friends when they are stuck, and will quietly help them out.
Dominic can think for himself and use his initiative to solve a problem; he doesn’t just sit and wait for the teacher to do it for him. He knows when to listen, when to talk and when to focus on his task. This attitude and behaviour makes him a good learner.
Dominic, you are a great member of Room 12 and we are delighted to have
you as our Pupil of the Week.

Yonghua Zhu ~ Room 9
We are so proud to have Yonghua as our Pupil of the Week
He is a conscientious student who settles to tasks quickly and quietly, endeavouring to do his best.
Yonghua always presents his work beautifully; he is a wonderful artist and pays careful attention to detail.
He readily contributes to our learning community sharing his knowledge and ideas while respecting the views of others.
Yonghua is a popular class member because he has a kind and considerate nature and he is a very supportive friend. He is always willing to help the teacher and his peers alike.

Enoch Zhang ~ Room 4
Miss McQuinn and Room 4 are happy to announce that Enoch is our
Pupil of the Week.  
He is a kind and caring student who is never too busy to help out.  This does not stop him from completeing his tasks as he manages his time so well. He completes his work to a very high standard.
Enoch is a wonderful example for others showing us all exactly what a model student at Victoria Avenue school looks like.  
We think he is a perfect human version of ‘Our Best Always’.  
We are all so proud of Enoch and are lucky to have him to work alongside in Room 4.

Chloë is a delight to have in Room 10.
She brings her enthusiasm for learning and a positive attitude to school every single day.

Ella Marris ~ Room 8
Ella is joy to have in Room 8.  She arrives at school each morning with a cheerful smile
and some interesting news for the teacher.  
It has been wonderful to see Ella grow in confidence this year
and she is role model to all her classmates.  
Ella has impeccable manners and you can always spot her sitting up,
ready to listen, think and learn on the mat.  
She is incredibly kind, always letting people join in her games both inside and outside the classroom.  
Ella also loves to write, and everyday she tries her very best to make her

Mackenzie is a delight to have in our class. She is calm and sensible in any situation and has a mature approach to whatever she is involved in.

Mackenzie listens attentively and then settles to work quickly to achieve the given task. She always puts in her best effort and will not hesitate to present more than is asked for. Her work is presented well and shows thoughtful consideration. Mackenzie is willing to take on a challenge if something at first appears too difficult, and is happy to ask if need be, for further guidance.
It is a pleasure to have in our class such a conscientious student with a positive attitude, when nothing is ever too much trouble.

James Tattersfield ~ Room 2
James is a valued and popular member of Room 2.
He has an amazing ability to make his entire class roll on the floor in stitches...laughing. His humour and cheeky grin will capture anyone’s attention.
James has shown more commitment and focus to achieve goals in his learning and needs to be commended for this.
A keen conversationalist, he contributes thoughtfully and creatively to discussions and can listen to his peers with an open mind.

It is an easy choice to select Jan Carson as the Room 6 pupil of the week! He is an outstanding student who is the kind of boy that any adult would be proud to call their son. He is so helpful, friendly, courteous and well mannered – without ever being prompted.
Jan has the kind of personality that cheers up anyone around him. He has a quick wit and enjoys cracking jokes in the classroom. When it’s time to get his work done, Jan manages himself carefully to complete tasks to a high standard, always trying his best.
Not only a great friend, super student and role model – Jan is also an awesome athlete and has shown great improvement in his basketball skills.

Larissa Kiyoto-Ward ~ Room 1
Lovely Larissa. From the first day of school, Larissa has had her gorgeous smile on full beam! She is always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, and never forgets her manners. Larissa treats everyone with kindness and consideration.
Larissa is the most amazing dancer! She spends a lot of her spare time winning dancing competitions. But no matter how busy Larissa is outside of school she is always a hard working, self-motivated and diligent student who tries her absolute best in all that she does. She settles into tasks quickly and always produces high quality work. Her focus, dedication to learning and her constant strive for excellence, are all things to be greatly admired.
Larissa is an absolute pleasure to teach and is a very valued member of Room 1! It is so wonderful to have such a creative, vibrant and caring person like Larissa in our class! Larissa, you should be extremely proud of all that you have achieved so far this year. We all look forward to seeing you reach and exceed your goals in the future!

Room 19 are proud to celebrate Ben as their pupil of the week…congratulations!
Ben is a cheerful, well-mannered member of our class with a good sense of humour. He shows an interest in learning new things and he has maintained good work habits so far this year.
Ben consistently works towards achieving his ‘best always’ and his ability to produce work of both quality and quantity is continually increasing.  He is a good friend to many Room 19 students, as well as students from other classes.

Room 20 students are privileged to have Sophie as their pupil of the week.

Rebecca, you have only been at VAS for a short while but in the time that you
have been in Room 16 you have shown us all that you understand exactly what it means to do
‘Our Best Always’.
You work with great determination and persistence always striving to improve you skills and extend your confidence. Even when you find things tough you work on, asking for help and trying again.
You are kind and gentle with everyone you meet and have the most fantastic manners. You are very helpful in class and all the teachers know that they can rely on you.
All of Room 16 know that you will be their friend and that you will always help them to feel better if they are down.

Matthew tries his best in all areas of his school life and he is making good academic progress.
He displays great aptitude and enthusiasm on the sports field,
already being a devoted fan of cricket.
He is becoming increasingly independent and self-sufficient, and enjoys engaging in new tasks.
Matthew is a boy who faces life’s challenges with maturity and common sense. He deals with difficulties quietly and without fuss.

Kate has not been at Victoria Avenue School very long but Room 12 are delighted to have her in their class.
Kate is a great girl to have around. She is caring and friendly to all members of the class, and is quick to spot a friend who needs a helping hand.
Kate demonstrates nice manners and exercises self-control in all situations. She is attentive and always models good learning behaviour
for her classmates.
With her big smile and lovely sense of fun, Kate knows how to
enjoy whatever she is doing.

Room 13 are so proud that Bria is our pupil of the week!

Emily Cosham ~ Room 11
Emily has just started at school this term and already she demonstrates her best always.
She knows how to make friends and how to help others. When new students start she kindly offers to look after them and she keeps to her word.

Lachlan comes to school with a passion to learn everyday.  
He has a very inquisitive mind and loves to discover new things, and he is great at sharing

Lachlan is an organised learner, and is always arrives ready to start the school day.

This week Room 6 is very proud to announce that Ji Yeon Min is our
Pupil of the Week.
Ji Yeon only arrived in New Zealand from Korea this year, and already she has learned an incredible amount of English and has made many friends because she always tries her very best and gives everything a go.
Even after being in a new country, and in a new class for only three weeks Ji Yeon was brave enough to come along to Camp Hunua. This meant a whole week of speaking English, eating kiwi food and doing outdoor activities, - tough enough for many of the Year 6 kids, but an even tougher and amazing achievement for Ji Yeon.
Ji Yeon approaches all new learning with great enthusiasm, and gives it her best effort. She has a great big smile, which is always on her friendly face. Every day Ji Yeon works well with her friends and follows instructions carefully. We love having her in our class, and she is an asset to our school.

Enna is a lovely, thoughtful, caring and helpful student. If anyone is hurt she is the first to show concern and to offer assistance, or if someone is feeling sad she will cheer them up.

Ben is a super-enthusiastic student who likes nothing better than to entertain the class with his latest news items. After listening to Ben’s talks we feel as though we were there at the time, sharing the experience with him.

Ricky is a happy and popular pupil who displays a wonderful sense of humour.

Sarah Harvison - Room 17
Sarah is the perfect choice for Pupil of the Week! She is an incredibly bubbly, enthusiastic and positive girl who is so much fun to be around. Sarah entertains the class with her stories, her laughter and her ever-present smile. She is always keen to help others, and make everyone feel included.
This year Sarah has worked especially hard on her writing, and has written some wonderful creative pieces that she should be very proud of. She has shown persistence with her writing effort, which is super.
Sarah has become more resilient, and it is wonderful to see the way that she is able to deal with a variety of situations, accepting the good with the bad, in a more mature way.
Her love of life, and passion for learning is obvious, and it’s a big part of what makes Sarah the special student she is in Room 17. Well done Sarah!!

Charlotte Ng Wai Shing - Room 11
Charlotte started school just this year but you would never guess that she hadn`t been here for a lot longer.
She is a caring and thoughtful friend to everyone. If anyone needs help Charlotte is quick to offer it. Her beautiful friendly smile lights up our room each morning, along with her cheery greeting, she gets us ready for the day.
She loves all learning and she is enthusiastic and diligent in her learning tasks. She takes great pride in her work and always presents it well.
We are so lucky to have Charlotte in our room.

Renee Sayal - Room 18
Renee is a quiet, conscientious student, who always settles quickly and carries on with her work independently.
She is a kind and caring friend, never too busy to help others around her, including the teacher!
Renee is a talented artist, and is often asked for art advice by her peers. 
It is lovely to see her passion for art grow, as she is frequently spotted drawing, receiving much admiration for her work.
Never one to complain, she works hard and puts her best effort into all areas of the curriculum.
She is a delight to have in the class, always happy and cheerful, brightening up our day with her sunny smile.
Renee, Room 18 are privileged to have you as a member of our Learning Community, and we are so proud you are our Pupil of the Week.

Safwan Alwahb - Room 17
Safwan is a great choice to be Room 17’s Pupil of the Week, because he is a boy who is always a model VAS student.
He has the most enthusiastic attitude towards learning, and his efforts have been rewarded with great progress. He should feel very proud of the way he has improved in literacy and numeracy. The way Safwan manages himself and his own learning is a credit to him. He always got to Rainbow Reading on time without being reminded, and he diligently makes sure he remembers to have his inhaler each day.
Safwan is a quiet student, who is caring and kind to everyone else in the classroom. He is helpful and generous to others, allowing others to join his games and he will assist if someone is finding their work difficult.
Room 17 are very proud of Safwan because he follows our school motto
“Our Best Always”. Congratulations!

Christian Smyth - Room 6
Room 6 is proud to celebrate Christian Smyth as the Pupil Of the Week.
Christian is a positive and enthusiastic learner who offers so much to
Room 6’s learning community.
Christian is a leader both in the classroom and on the sports field.
In the classroom he is focused with his work, and perseveres until the desired outcome is achieved. He leads by example.
On the sports field Christian is a fierce and determined competitor, who gives one hundred percent whether winning or losing. He inspires and leads his teammates with his attitude and performance.
Christian is always friendly and respectful to peers and adults. He is kind hearted with a lovely warmth to his personality. Everybody appreciates having Christian in Room 6 and he is a highly valued student at Victoria Avenue School.

Jamila Cheung - Room 13
Jamila is a delightful member of Room 13.
She has a caring heart, a sunny disposition and a big smile.
Jamila looks after all her friends and tries to resolve any
disputes with talk and compromise.
Jamila is also a role model for her peers. She works hard in all subject areas and has excellent manners at all times

Joshua Fenton - Room 10
Josh is one of the super hard workers in Room 10.
He has a positive attitude and will give anything a try.
Josh is a great friend and a fantastic helper around the classroom.  
We admire Josh's  passion for rugby and enjoy listening to his exciting news like his photo with All Black Dan Carter!

Tayla Clasper - Room 3
Room Three are lucky to have Tayla as their Pupil of the Week. She is a friendly and enthusiastic support to all the students in the senior school and she always has a bright welcoming smile to each and every person she meets.

Tayla works diligently and focuses on producing the best possible results in all that she does. She selflessly assists others, regardless of their age, and tries hard to ensure that everyone gets a fair deal and an equal opportunity.

Tayla’s attitude to all things is a credit to her. She is an extremely valued and important member of the Senior Syndicate, Room Three and the entire Victoria Avenue learning community.

Sebastian Bull - Room 8
Sebastian is an all round super star in Room 8!  
He approaches all school activities, both inside and outside the classroom with maturity and determination.  Sebastian always tries his best,
in all curriculum areas. 
When he is not at school he is busy practising his karate, and Room 8 have loved hearing about his achievements and seeing some of his tricky moves! 
Sebastian is a kind, caring and loyal friend, who always looks out for others. He shows respect to his peers and teachers, and is always willing to help.

Emma Collard - Room 5
Emma is an enthusiastic and motivated learner who approaches all new learning opportunities with interest.

We are proud to have Sam as our Pupil of the Week.
Sam is a very bright and cheerful class member, he always comes into the class with a big smile on his face and an enthusiastic “good morning Mrs Young”
You can’t help but to respond to his bubbly personality.
Sam is very caring and is eager to help the teacher any chance he gets.
Sam also has lovely manners and is polite to adults and his peers.

William is a kind and friendly member of Room 20.

Ricah Sharma - Room 1
Ricah is a hard working, self-motivated and diligent student who always tries her absolute best in all that she does. She settles into tasks quickly and always produces high quality work. Ricah is SO reliable, you can always count on her to get the job done. Her focus, dedication to learning and her constant strive for excellence, are all things to be greatly admired!
Ricah is always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, and never forgets her manners. She always comes to school with huge smile on her face and a positive attitude. Ricah loves her friends, she treats them with kindness and consideration. Ricah’s kindness also extend to other children she comes across on the playground. You will often see her helping out the juniors and making sure they are okay.

Aleksandar Milivojevic - Room 18
Aleksandar is a very special member of Room 18.
He comes into class each day with a positive attitude and a friendly
greeting for everyone.
Aleksandar gives his best to everything he does, always producing work

Kiran Chung - Room 15

Kiran is a quiet, conscientious student who settles quickly to his work and always endeavours to do his best at whatever task he is given.
He readily contributes to our learning community, whether it is sharing his ideas, questions and knowledge with his classmates, or helping others.
Kiran enjoys coming to school and his lovely smile, gentle nature and quiet sense of humour are enjoyed by all of Room 15.

Eunice Yoon - Room 6
Room 6 is proud to celebrate Eunice Yoon as our pupil of the week. Eunice comes to school every day with the school motto “our best always” at the fore- front of her mind, it is evident in all that she does.
Eunice is focussed and hard working giving one hundred percent effort to her work. She is always positive and makes the most of any situation. Eunice is always respectful and considerate to adults and children alike.

Hugo Ireland - Room 10
Room 10 are proud to announce that Hugo Ireland is our superstar
pupil of the week.  
Hugo is a fantastic role model and listens carefully to any instructions.
He can always be counted on to be the first one organised and ready for learning.  Hugo is fantastic worker and is just zooming
along with his reading, writing and maths!
He is kind to his friends and is always polite to adults and visitors in the class.
But not just that, Hugo has a great sense of fun too, sharing his lovely smile with us all of the time. Hugo, thank you for being such a
antastic member of our class!
 
Saacha, you are a caring friend who always has time to listen to others and you share your bright smile and gentle manner with everyone you meet.

Lucy Mortimer - Room 19
Room 19 are proud to celebrate Lucy as their pupil of the week. Congratulations!
Lucy is a delightful member of our class.  She always wears a smile and she is pleasant towards others.  Lucy is a good role model for friendship and regularly includes others in all aspects of school, both in and out of the classroom.
Lucy always produces work to the best of her abilities, paying particular attention to details, finishing tasks to a high quality. She isn’t afraid to try new things and attempts

Joe is a valued member of Room 9.

Caitlin is a delight to have in our class.  She is a bright, bubbly and positive class member, and is always optimistic, no matter what!   Caitlin supports other class members and is often heard giving well thought out compliments to her peers. 
Caitlin is a very keen reader, and is regularly found relaxing
with a book in our book nook.  
She happily shares her love of books and characters with others around her. 
When working in a group Caitlin respects the opinion of others, and is always a careful listener.

Florence Akauola - Room 13
Room 13 is proud to celebrate Florence Akauola as their Pupil of the Week.
Florence is the kind of girl that people like to be around. She has a great sense of fun, heaps of positive energy and a big smile. She also knows how to be a good and caring friend to others.
Florence has a good attitude to learning and is always willing to listen carefully and work hard.
She takes great pride in her achievements.
One of Florence’s special qualities is being able to think for herself. She may only be five years old, but if she notices that something needs doing then she just gets on and does it, without being asked. What a super star!

Fa Afuhia Fia- Room 20
Fa Afuhia is a charming, engaged and bubbly member of Room 20. 
Fa Afuhia’s distinctive voice is most often heard helping a classmate out, showing encouragement to others and participating enthusiastically in class discussions.
Fa Afuhia knows what it means to be a good friend. He is the first person to be there for a person in need and always includes others in games at lunchtime.
Fa Afuhia takes pride in his work, always presenting his books and other work in
his neatest writing and to the best of his ability.
Fa Afuhia is a fantastic listener who enjoys being given a goal,
which he endeavours to meet 100% of the time.
Room 20 think we are so lucky to have Fa Afuhia in our class this year and know we will never be short of some great laughs with him around.

Samuel Jackson - Room 21
Room 21 is extremely privileged to have such a respectful and considerate class member as Sam.
We love the way he is always reliable and a positive role model for his peers. He listens to instructions and uses his initiative to complete tasks with his own creativity and flare.

Phoebe Cotter - Room 10
Phoebe brightens every morning with her friendly greeting and warm smile. 
She is kind to each member of our class and is always helpful.
Phoebe gives her best in everything she does. She writes her stories with such enthusiasm and always takes care with her lovely illustrations and artwork. Phoebe listens carefully to others and always shares her ideas thoughtfully.
She has creative ideas and really cares about the creatures of our planet – especially the kiwi!
Phoebe, we are so lucky to have such cheerful person in our class.
 
Andrew Evans - Room 16
Andrew is a cheerful and friendly member of the Room 16 learning community,
he is a good friend and a great role model.
Andrew comes to school absolutely determined to do his very best in everything, everyday, even when he finds the activity really tricky! He likes to be organised, listens carefully, focuses on his work, and is always willing to help others. Andrew has worked particularly hard at managing himself this term and is achieving fantastic results – well done Andrew, Room 16 love having you as one of the class!

Thomas Harvison - Room 1
Thomas is a vibrant and bubbly member of Room One. He always comes to school with a huge smile on his face which brightens up every morning and lights up the room.
Thomas is always willing to give things a go and gives everything his best shot, even when the task at hand may seem difficult at first. He works hard to produce high quality work at school and in his home learning which is something to be very proud of. Thomas uses his initiative and seeks out new information to answer questions that he has. He often comes to school with fascinating information which he has learned through self directed study. Along with working hard, Thomas is also very creative and innovative. He has the ability to think about things from different view points and is prepared to research ideas
to find out more about them.
Thomas is a valued member of our team in Room One. He is an absolute pleasure to teach. Thomas, you should be very proud of your effort and achievement so far this year.

Hannah deserves an award every day for her superb manners, great attitude to school and her enthusiasm.
She arrives at school always willing to help and do her best.
Hannah is a cheerful girl and her bright smile lights up Room 9. She is a good friend and always includes others in games and activities.
A careful listener, Hannah completes her work to a very high standard and gives 110% effort to everything she does. Well done Hannah, we are so lucky to have you as an outstanding member of our class.

Harrison Miller - Room 4
Harrison is a motivated, hardworking student, who always aims for the best in everything he does.  
He focuses on the finer details,  producing work that is always top of the line.
Harrison is positive and thinks of others before himself. 
Harrison always gets out of bed on the right side in the morning, coming to school always wearing his smile, never having a frown. This attitude is infectious to all in Room 4!
We all enjoy having such a lovely individual in our class.

Holly Liefting - Room 8
Holly is a kind and caring member of Room 8.   
She is an excellent listener and always follows instructions very carefully.  
She works really hard and follows the school motto Our Best Always.  
Holly respects her peers and is able to work and play happily with
other pupils.
We can always count on Holly to be doing the right thing, in the right place, at the right time.

Eli is a happy friendly boy who is always willing to help in Room 14.
He is kind and caring towards everyone. He listens carefully to instructions.
He tries his best in all areas of his work.

Charlie Collard - Room 17
Room 17 is so proud of Charlie Collard who is the VAS Pupil of the Week.
Charlie is a special friend to us all, making sure we are all included and feeling cared for. She comes into the classroom every day with a cheerful greeting and a large smile.
Charlie has the most positive attitude a teacher could wish for…always trying her best and working so hard.
Her writing is very entertaining, and she has even written and published her own book this year.

Fenna has made a very positive start to the new year in Room 21.

Alexander Johnston - Room 6
Alexander is a conscientious and hardworking pupil who deserves recognition for his excellent achievement and work ethic.

Brooke Robinson - Room 15
Brooke Robinson is Room 15's Pupil of the Week for many lovely reasons.

Mokoia Wright - Room 12
Mokoia has blossomed this year.
Her attitude towards her learning has developed making her a
responsible and reliable member of the class. 
She is a valued member of our learning community. She has a curious and inquisitive nature and is always eager to share ideas and thoughts
that are often outside the square.
She comes to school with a big smile on her face and usually
carrying something interesting to share with the class.
She has been a great role model for the New Entrants joining as she will always lend a helping hand to them, and I thank her for this.
Mokoia is a shining star on the stage, as many will know with our assembly last week
and our Wearable Arts show, you were amazing.
Room 12 has been lucky to have her!

Thomas Paterson - Room 16
The pupil of this week comes from Room 16, and is our very own
writing machine - Thomas Paterson.
Thomas is a diligent and caring pupil, who has shown a co-operative attitude
toward all of his peers this year.
He sets high expectations for himself, and then strives to achieve his goals.
Thomas is willing to share his ideas with the class and let us all learn
about his great suggestions during IBL.
He loves to write, and we think he will one day be the next JK Rowling, because sometimes we just can't get him to stop writing in our class!
Thomas truly deserves this special award, and all of us in Room 16 are proud of him.

Sebastian Allum - Room 3

Sebastian is a cheerful and enjoyable member of Room Three. He is widely respected by all his classmates and peers and he always gives everything he does his very best effort.
Sebastian cares for his school mates. He selflessly offers assistance to everyone, regardless of their age and he makes sure that everyone always
gets a fair deal and equal opportunity.
Sebastian’s attitude and diligence is indeed a credit to him. He is an extremely valued and important of member of the Senior Syndicate, Room 3 and indeed the entire Victoria Avenue learning community.

Georgia Hulme - Room 10
Georgia is a very special member of Room 10!
She comes in to the class each day with a beautiful smile, a positive attitude and a friendly greeting for her teacher and classmates.
She is always caring and helpful to others and is popular among her
friends for her energy and enthusiasm.
Just like our school motto, Georgia gives her 'best always'
to absolutely everything she does.
Her hardworking and conscientious work ethic has contributed to her
excellent academic achievements this year.  
She is also a fabulous singer and performer and shone in our
class assembly and wearable arts show.
Georgia, it has been a pleasure seeing you grow in confidence this year.

Alex Hoffman - Room 9
Room 9 are lucky to have a superstar like Alex in our class. He is has gained so much confidence this year and tries hard at everything he does.  Alex now shows focus and determination at writing time and his reading has shot through the roof like a rocket!  He is responsible and caring and everyone just loves having him around.
Well done Alex you have made such fantastic progress this year and we are proud to have you as a member of our class!


Calvin Fraser - Room 5

Calvin is an enthusiastic, conscientious pupil. Calvin is always willing to help his friends and his teacher in anyway he can.
He constantly strives to reach his goals in all classroom subjects and is beginning to take pride in the work that he produces.
Calvin participates in all classroom activities with a mature and confident attitude.
We really appreciate Calvin’s presence in our class and know he will go far with the positive and focused attitude he has.

Allan Sun - Room 2
Allan is a valued and popular member of Room 2, he always enters the class with a smile on his face and shows a caring and sensitive attitude towards all his peers. He has an enquiring mind and has worked hard to improve his self management skills. A keen and profitable contributor, Allan listens with empathy and understanding and always gives strives to achieve the best.

Sophie is an outstanding member of Room 8. 
She is a kind, caring friend, who always looks out for other children,
both inside and outside the classroom.
Sophie is a super star worker.  She always gets on with her work quickly and quietly,
and always tries her best. 
This year Sophie has turned into a writing machine.  She writes amazing stories,
filled with juicy words!  
If her teacher's need a helper, Sophie can always be relied upon to get the job done. 
We love having you in our class Sophie, thank you for your wonderful manners, and hard working attitude every day.

Harry Staines - Room 4
 It is with pleasure that Room 4 acknowledges Harry as our Pupil of the Week.  
Harry has really blossomed and grown in confidence over the
past couple of months.
He is a delightful boy and has a wide circle of friends.  He is considerate, caring and he continually proves himself to be a reliable, trusted peer.
Harry has been progressing in leaps and bounds with his reading and writing and should be very proud of his efforts.  
He has shown determination and persistence
 even when it seems a little too tough.
Room 4 are always happy to see Harry enter our class, he adds a sense of fun and reminds others to look on the bright side of life.  
It is a pleasure to have Harry in Room 4 especially when we need a bit of cheering up.

Alex Saunders - Room 7
Alex, you arrive at school each day with a smile that never fades.  You are a very thoughtful member of Room 7 with beautiful manners and a kind word for everyone you meet.  You are a good friend to all the children in Year 2 because you are a good listener and enjoy helping others and having fun.  You are also a great member of the learning community in Room 7 as you work hard at everything you do, and are always ready to listen, offer ideas and accept other points of view.

Jason Sang - Room 1
Jason is a valued member of Room One’s Learning Community. He comes to school everyday ready to learn and contributes thoughtfully to class discussions. Jason has a great sense of humour and always has a smile on his face. He is very computer smart and can always help Room One with our computer questions. Jason is a critical thinker and his curiosity allows him to excel during Inquiry Based Learning. Room One is very fortunate to have Jason in our class!

Trisna Claney- Room 20
Congratulations Trisna you are very deserving of this special award!
You are a superb role model to your peers each day.
You are keen to take on challenges and complete all tasks with
originality and flare.
Each morning I know you will arrive equipped with a positive attitude and a mature respect for your peers.

 Chelsea Simmons - Room 19
 Chelsea is the pupil with the big smile and vibrant personality that never fails to amaze and amuse you!
  She is an enthusiastic, motivated member of Room 19. Chelsea shares her fantastic ideas confidently and involves herself fully in all classroom activities.
  She shows real commitment to her learning and enjoys thinking outside the square to ensure her work is innovative and unique.
  Chelsea has fantastic leadership qualities which are constantly puts to great use, assisting her peers in their work, helping with class activities and going the extra mile to be of assistance to teachers and friends.
 Chelsea has wide group of friends who she enjoys playing with. She is a fair, considerate friend with a great sense of humour.
 We are very lucky to have Chelsea in our class this year.
  Keep it up Chelsea!!!

Cate Cleland - Room 21
Cate has made a fantastic start to her school life.
She tackles all class tasks with enthusiasm and a determination to finish her
work to a high standard.
Cate is a very friendly, caring classmate and helps new children settle into our class by encouraging and guiding them throughout their day.
Cate will always brighten up every class she is in, with her cheerful chat and her illuminating ideas.
Cate you are a wonderful member of Room 21.

William Dalziel - Room 15
William is a lively, inquiring member of Room 15. He is always alert and focused during discussion time and usually has a good idea or observation to share with the class. He has even learnt to keep an idea in his head long enough
to put his hand up!
William starts each school day with an infectious cheery smile and friendly greeting. He is enthusiastic about being at school with his friends and knows
how to have fun while he learns.
William is both helpful and reliable, which makes him a great person to have around, especially when there are activities to tidy up or messages to take.
Room 15 just loves having you as part of their learning family, William.

Sophie Weston - Room 18
Sophie is a happy and outgoing student who enjoys school and participates fully in all school activities. She always settles to work quickly and works steadily and cheerfully and without any fuss.
Sophie has a great sense of humour and we seldom see her without a smile on her face.
For me, Sophie is the embodiment of what it means to be a student at VAS - caring, thoughtful, hardworking, helpful and , most of all, great fun.
We are so privileged to have Sophie in Room 18.
 
   
 
Chloe Beech - Room 17
 Chloe is a lovely girl, always caring of her peers and ready to
assist when needed.
She is a conscientious student who quickly settles to tasks and
always endeavours to do her best.
With her kind, caring nature and helpful ways Chloe is a
valued member of Room 17.
We are very fortunate to have her in our class.

Ben is an intelligent, articulate boy who always has interesting
ideas to share with the class.
He is a well rounded pupil  -  he is achieving well in all areas of the curriculum, and enjoys music and sport.
He is keen to tackle new challenges in his school life, and readily accepts responsibility when it is asked of him.
He is a caring friend and is becoming increasingly aware of the needs of others.

George Barker - Room 12
George is a fun loving and hard working member of Room 12.
George's energetic and enthusiastic approach to learning is contagious. He seems like he might burst when he has a fantastic idea to share with us.
George also knows how to be a sensible role model, which is helpful when we get our new members of Room 12.
George is kind, caring and sensitive to other children's feelings, which allows him to make friends easily.
Room 12 feels very lucky to have you as a part of our class.

Lachlan is a quiet, conscientious and helpful class member who always gives of his best.
He sets himself very high standards, often being  too hard on himself.  Lachlan has developed in confidence throughout the year  and is now showing frequent flashes of his off-beat humour, amusing the class.
He relates well to all his peers and Room 17 will really miss such a valued class member when Lachlan leaves us to return to Australia at the end of this term.
 
Rachel Ravi - Room 6
Rachel is a conscientious and hardworking pupil who deserves recognition for her excellent achievement and work ethic.
She sets her standards very high and she is able to maintain high levels of concentration. Rachel is an active listener and her confidence to participate and contribute has grown.
She shows a caring thoughtful attitude towards others and is always willing to help out within the classroom.
Thank you very much Rachel for your quiet dedication and amazing contribution to our learning community in Room 6.

Fenna Goldfinch - Room 16
Room 16 are so proud to have Fenna Goldfinch as the Pupil of the Week. Fenna is one of most sincere, thoughtful and kind girls that you will ever meet in life.
She is always thinking of others before her self,
and is a very generous student.
Fenna loves to give 100% effort to everything she does. She uses her powerful imagination to write great stories and poems, and
her creativity to make awesome artworks.
Fenna is a mature student who amazes her teacher with her independence, and we especially love the way she makes decisions by herself without worrying about what everyone else thinks.
Well done Fenna, you truly deserve  this award.    

Oliver Mickleson - Room 10
Oliver is an all round fantastic member of Room 10.
He is enthusiastic, caring and popular with his friends for his honesty and reliability. He is often chosen as a buddy to look after other children and
to demonstrate how to be a good friend.
He always tries his best at anything he does and has made great progress with his school work as a result of this amazing attitude.
Oliver also has a great imagination and a creative streak that shows through, especially in writing, problem solving and art.
He is cheerful and confident and we enjoy having him in Room 10
everyday of the week!
        Well done Oliver, keep up the good work!

Zoe and Hannah Mercer - Room 9
Room 9 are lucky to have two very special girls in our class.  They may both be born on the same day, but each one brings something unique and
different to our room each day.
Hannah is kind and caring and is always helping out the teacher and her friends! She looks out for others and makes sure they are ok if they are feeling sad and her positive attitude and  sunny smile really helps to brighten
up our room each day.
Zoe also is kind, caring and helpful.  She is a fantastic friend and is a real role model in our class.  Zoe is a very clever artist and we love to look at the care and detail she puts into her work.  She is very self motivated always
helps others without a fuss.
Zoe and Hannah you are both stars. Any class would be lucky to have just one Mercer girl but room 9 is extra lucky because we have two!

Claudia is a vibrant and friendly young lady who makes all feel welcomed and appreciated. She is helpful, considerate and always gives everything
she does her very best effort.
Claudia cares for everyone at the school, not just her classmates. She goes out of her way to celebrate the successes of others and selflessly gives her time to help other students achieve successes of their own.

Samantha Hart ~ Room 5
Samantha is a delightful and valued member of Room 5.
Her hard work is reflected in her writing for which she has a real passion.
Samantha always exceeds the highest standards set and her work shows a person who takes great pride in their accomplishments.
Her friendly nature means she is never more than happy to
help out her fellow classmates.
Samantha is extremely mature and is a role model for others in the school.

Elijah Liefting ~ Room 8
Elijah comes to school everyday ready to learn.  Not only does he take responsibility for his belongings and learning tools, he has an outstanding attitude.  Elijah approaches new learning tasks positively, and is always prepared to give things a go.  
Elijah is a sensitive and caring member of our class, and is always looking out for his friends.  During play times, he loves to be active, and always includes
his classmates in his games.  
We are lucky to have such a wonderful, all round super person in our class.

Phoebe Pemberton - Room 2
Phoebe always starts the day with a sparkle in her eye and a bright smile that lights up the room as she enters. Her bubbly personality is contagious and
she is well respected by all.
Never too busy to lend a helping hand, she is an attentive listener with a warm and caring heart and is one of Room 2's most
valued class members.
She has clear goals with regards to her learning and is self motivated to tackle all tasks with enthusiasm and holds high expectations of herself.
Room 2 wouldn't be the same without her.

William McLachlan - Room 15
Room 15 is delighted to tell you all about William.
William is a super competitor! He always tries to do his best whether in the classroom or on the sports field. He will be planning to win the Cross Country next week, so look out Year One boys!
William has lovely manners and can be relied upon to do the right thing at all times, whatever the situation. He is a great role model for his friends in Room 15 and they look up to him, and try to follow his lead.
William is also a friendly, happy boy with a lovely smile and sense of humour.

Jacob Haycock - Room 20
Room 20 is lucky to have such a considerate class member as Jacob. We love how he is always thoughtful, reliable and gives everything a go.
He arrives at school with a cheerful smile, and shares this contagious
enthusiasm all day long!  
He listens to instructions and gives his best effort. Jacob is able to enjoy thinking about his classmates’ ideas and is also keen to share his own.
We all enjoy his sense of humour and calm character.
Congratulations Jacob you are a superb role model to your Peers!

Ken Zeng - Room 4
Ken is a motivated, hardworking student, who always aims for the best in everything he does.  Ken focuses on the finer details of his work, producing work that is always top of the line. Ken has been a special helper to Miss McQuinn as has taken the time to translate English to a non-English speaking child.  What a challenge to keep up with his own work and help another continually.
Ken always thinks of others before himself, he is a helpful and friendly student willing to lend a hand whenever required.
Ken is a pleasure to teach and a role model to all in Room 4.  We have enjoyed having such a lovely member in our class.  Ken you should be very proud of your efforts this year and we all look forward to seeing you continue to grow.

Kimberly Lin - Room 1
Kimberly is a valued member of Room One's Learning Community.
She is a responsible learner who is self-motivated and strives to do her best
in everything that she does.
Kimberly is a focused student who is not afraid to take on whatever
challenges may come her way - a true leader.
She participates in every class discussion and contributes her thoughtful ideas that show her critical thinking skills. Kimberly's drive is impressive and this will allow her to succeed in whatever she takes on!
You are a real role model Kimberly and Room One is lucky to have you!

George Burns - Room 18
George is completely involved in all aspects of school life.
His enthusiasm is a treat to see.
Very dramatic and outspoken, George is the showman of Room 18.
He has amazing manners and just loves to help people.
George is a star on the computer and whenever someone gets stuck - particularly the teacher! - he takes over, sorts out the problem and explains how  to prevent the same thing happening  next time.
Life in Room 18 would be much quieter without George, but much less interesting!
George , we are so pleased you’re in our room to keep us all on our toes!
