Dear Parents,
RE: NETBALL FOR 2010
Outlined below is the information we can provide to help you make a decision as to whether you wish your son or daughter to be involved in playing for a school netball team this year.
VENUE: AMI Auckland Netball Centre
7 Allison Ferguson Drive
St Johns
COMPETITION: Future Ferns. Girls and boys (max. 3 boys on court). Year 3-5 rotate, Y6 do not.
Y3 and 4 have a hoop height of 2.6 and a size 4 ball.
Y5 and 6 have a hoop height of 3.05 and a size 5 ball.
TIME: Thursdays of Terms 2 and 3. Begins May 6. Ends Aug.12 (19 saver day)
Each team will play one game at either 4.15pm, 5.05pm or 5.55pm.
TRANSPORT: Parents are responsible for taking their children to and from the game.
PRACTICES: One practice a week either before school or after. Time to be decided by the coach. Timetable to be drawn up.
ADULT ASSISTANCE REQUIRED:
- A Coach (who will be required to attend one compulsory rules and rotation clinic)
- An Umpire( can be the coach or someone else) who will be required to attend the same rules and rotation clinic.
- A Team Manager.
COST: $70.00 ( to be paid at time of reg.)
UNIFORM: Skirt, top and bibs provided by the school.
Sports shoes and socks.
REGISTRATION: Opens on the VAS website on March 1st and closes on March 10th at 3pm. If you are unable to access the website a hard copy will be available at the office. No registrations will be accepted after this date.
TRIALS: These will be held at school sometime during the week starting March 15 and will be conducted by Clare Whittington. We will let you know which team your child is in as soon as possible. Please ensure your child brings the appropriate sports clothing for the week.
Children will not get a trial unless they have registered and paid their fees. ( If we do not get enough coaches /managers and therefore some people can’t play their fees will be refunded.)
We are required to indicate how many teams we are going to enter in the tournament and we will do this based on the number of children who can commit to an entire season and the adults who are able to assist.
