Camp is an important aspect of our Education Outside the Classroom Programme which provides valuable opportunities for students to experience and learn about the outdoors. Camps are planned every year for all students in Years Four, Five and Six.
This year our Year Six students spent a week at Kokako Lodge in the Hunua Ranges where they took part in activities such as a high ropes course, abseiling, kayaking, orienteering, archery and raft building. Additionally, a fun day was spent at Sonshine Ranch where students experienced horse riding, a flying fox through the bush and a water confidence course. Trained instructors supervised all activities at this camp.
Every year the Year Five students spend three days at the Sir Peter Blake Marine Education and Recreation Centre at Long Bay. Under the supervision of trained instructors, they have the opportunity to take part in a range of team and individual challenges such as sailing, surfing, kayaking and abseiling.
